Ducati Lenovo Team Clinches 2025 MotoGP Triple Crown with the Power of AI and Innovation

On October 4, 2025, the Ducati Lenovo Team roared into the history books once again, securing the MotoGP Teams’ World Championship and completing the coveted Triple Crown. This remarkable feat follows earlier victories in the Constructors’ Championship in Barcelona and Marc Márquez’s Riders’ Title win in Motegi — a season of dominance that echoed Ducati’s stunning clean sweep in 2022 under Francesco Bagnaia.

The 2025 season showcased not just raw racing talent but also the power of cutting-edge technology and data-driven precision. Behind Ducati’s record-breaking performance stood Lenovo’s state-of-the-art solutions, which elevated the team’s strategy, performance, and decision-making throughout the championship.

Lenovo’s AI-enhanced insights, race simulations, and advanced data analysis enabled Ducati to make smarter, faster, and more accurate calls—whether on the track or in the paddock. From R&D operations at Ducati’s headquarters in Bologna to real-time race-day analytics, Lenovo’s powerful hardware and intelligent systems played an integral role in transforming information into championship-winning action.

Luca Rossi, President of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, commended the team’s extraordinary performance, highlighting Lenovo’s ongoing mission to empower innovation through technology. “We’re proud to support Ducati in pushing the limits of performance,” Rossi stated. “Our partnership demonstrates how technology and human expertise can combine to achieve extraordinary results.”

Echoing that sentiment, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali emphasized the magnitude of the achievement. He praised riders Marc Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia for their skill and teamwork, while also acknowledging Lenovo’s critical role in the team’s ongoing success. “The Triple Crown is a testament to both the talent of our riders and the power of our partnership with Lenovo,” Domenicali shared. “Together, we’ve shown what’s possible when passion meets innovation.”

As Ducati Corse celebrates this monumental win, the focus now shifts to the future. With Lenovo’s continued technological support, Ducati aims to push the boundaries of racing even further—advancing performance, refining strategy, and inspiring a new era of MotoGP excellence.

In 2025, Ducati didn’t just win races—they redefined what’s possible when world-class engineering and intelligent technology ride in perfect sync.

TeamViewer Optimises Simulator Operations Efficiency for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team

Göppingen – TeamViewer, a global leader in digital workplace solutions, is driving improvements for The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team with the performance-enhancing advantages of TeamViewer Tensor in managing the driver-in-loop simulator.

In the highly competitive world of Formula 1, every millisecond counts. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team seeks to ensure a competitive advantage at every stage of a race weekend to get the car across the finish line first, including the technology it deploys throughout its operations.

Part of this process is the driver-in-loop simulator, which replicates the behaviour of a real car, but in a controlled digital environment where every circuit can be driven on and every possible car configuration can be explored. Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, use this simulator to test drive different car setups and discover the best possible options to configure it for the race weekend. This year, the simulator work is especially important for rookie driver Antonelli as he familiarises himself with new tracks.

The team’s reserve and simulator drivers are also often busy in the simulator, especially during race weekends. Simulator drivers and the simulator team work closely with the engineers to test solutions for real-time issues, which, if effective, can be applied to the race cars on the next session. As the race team is frequently overseas and in different time zones, TeamViewer Tensor ensures that key personnel have the flexibility to log in, monitor, and make changes to the simulator devices remotely, even when they're not on site in Brackley, England.

This maximises the use of these simulators with unmatched security, scalability, and manageability.

Christian Damm, Simulator Development Engineer for the Team, notes that, “Not only are the simulators a sensitive area, they're also very secretive. We need to be able to trust that the data security is in place. With TeamViewer, we can have that peace of mind. The work in the simulator has an impact on the track, so being able to push boundaries and enhance performance is a win for my team."

Damm also highlights that one of the benefits of using TeamViewer Tensor is dynamic remoting that allows multiple users to connect to one machine to troubleshoot a problem together. He has a specific setup at his desk, with multiple screens, and is able to replicate this remotely on his laptop.

In addition, TeamViewer Tensor’s scalability and centralised management allows the simulator team to effortlessly add or remove users and machines, reducing the time it takes to manage new resources and secure them within groups. Tensor also displays significantly better resolution than the previous software used by the team, which would stutter and freeze. Tensor’s ability to utilise a higher bit rate and tune colours as needed has allowed it to avoid these disruptive issues, providing a high-quality experience at all times. And whether it’s a trackside engineer or IT staff at the factory, ensuring that team members can access the data in real time can be the difference between winning and losing on the track.

“On the track, every second counts - so we need to ensure our technology implementations can keep up to ensure drivers and team members can access all the data they need in real time to make those split-second decisions to get us over the finish line. We use TeamViewer across our digital workplaces, whether the office, the factory, or at the track, so when Christian approached us about new technology for the simulation, Tensor was the obvious choice. Due to the cost cap all our technology deployments have to deliver value. It is always a balancing balance where technology spend will make more of an impact than putting the money elsewhere in the team,” said Steven Riley, Head of IT Operation and Service Management, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.

Watch here for more detail on how The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team is using TeamViewer.

Driving Innovation: Lenovo and F1® Embracing an AI Future Together to Boost Technical Operations

Formula 1® and Lenovo today announced a successful trial of Lenovo’s AI-powered ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition laptop at the Event Technical Centre (ETC) showcasing the possibilities the new era of intelligent computing can have in motorsport operations.

As part of a continued multi-year partnership, focused on innovation and performance, F1 tested the Lenovo AI PC on-site within the ETC during the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN CHINESE GRAND PRIX 2025 supporting race data processing and operational efficiency. The trial marked a pioneering moment for AI-enhanced edge computing in the world’s most data-rich sport.

Roberto Dalla, Chief Technical and Engineering Officer of Formula 1 said, “The Lenovo ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition marks a significant advancement in smart technology, seamlessly integrating advanced features like Smart Modes, Smart Share, and Smart Care to enhance both user experience and productivity, which we had the opportunity to test during the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN CHINESE GRAND PRIX 2025.

With the Intel Lunar Lake Platform and Copilot+ features, this AI-enabled device is designed for high performance and energy efficiency – qualities that align with our aggressive pursuit of being net zero carbon by the end of the decade.

In the world of Formula 1, where every second counts, innovations like these allow our teams to process data faster, collaborate more seamlessly, communicate more effectively, and stay focused on creating our award-winning international broadcast for our fans worldwide.”

“It was exciting to see our innovative AI PC tested in one of the most high-pressure environments—during a F1 Sprint weekend,” commented Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu, Chief Technology Officer at Lenovo.

“Through our partnership with Formula 1 we’re able to push the boundaries of technological innovation in motorsports —not just to support race operations, but to create unforgettable experiences for fans around the world. This recent trial highlights the potential of AI-enabled hardware to streamline content creation, accelerate storytelling, and help fans feel closer to the action in real time.”

The F1 Event Technical Centre (ETC) is a temporary, portable technology hub deployed onsite at every race event. It serves as the central point for acquiring, data, and feeds that are then sent back to the Media & Technology Centre (M&TC) in the UK, the heart of F1’s broadcasting operations. The ETC is designed to be compact, efficient, and reliable, ensuring uninterrupted critical services like the timing system and telemetry.

Lenovo products—ranging from laptops and tablets to workstations, monitors, servers, and Motorola smartphones—are deeply integrated within the ETC, delivering advanced solutions that enable F1 personnel to monitor vital race operations. The new features found in the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition laptop, could enable F1 to streamline communications, enhance remote collaboration, enable seamless content sharing across devices, and accelerate data processing to deliver faster insights and smarter strategic decisions. With features like all-day battery life[1] and military-grade durability[2], Lenovo’s AI PC has the potential to help drive a faster performance, enhanced mobility, and longer lasting operations which ultimately results in a richer, more immersive experience for fans worldwide.

Furthermore, this trial highlights that as well as being more energy efficient, Lenovo’s high-performance PCs can help Formula 1 reduce its overall hardware footprint required at each race. By relying on more capable devices, the need to ship large quantities of equipment from race to race is decreased—cutting down on energy consumption, transportation emissions, and the demand for air conditioning onsite. Another way the two brands are working together on a smarter, more sustainable approach.

Building on the success of the initial trial in Shanghai, Formula 1 and Lenovo will continue to explore opportunities to test AI PCs and other cutting-edge technologies throughout the 2025 season. While performance on the track remains critical, the partnership’s broader ambition is to continuously elevate broadcast operations and enhance the fan viewing experience, bringing fans even closer to the heart of the action.
