WifiSLAM, as its name mildly suggests, has developed an indoor location method based on Wi-Fi signals coming from routers in the building. It allows for accuracy of about eight feet.
While a $20 million acquisition is hardly large, considering Apple’s financial resources, it clearly suggests that the company is hard at work on adding new features to its iOS Maps service. As you probably know, Google has been offering indoor navigation on its own Maps for quite some time now.
Nice and quite informative post. I really look forward to your other posts.
