Microsoft has reportedly sold 1.5 million units of Surface tablets

Microsoft’s Surface tablets have added a new dimension to the way we look at tablets. The Surface series of Windows tablets, which can also function as a laptop with a help of a dock has further reduced the gap between tablets and laptops.

According to a few recent reports, Microsoft has sold more than 1.5 million units of the Surface tablets. The Windows giant has managed to sell about 400,000 Surface Pro units and just over a million units of Surface RT tablets.
Microsoft is said to have placed orders for about 3 million Surface RT tablets and the sales have clearly fallen short of predictions. Microsoft will be hoping to improve its performance, but it might have to resort to a substantial price cut to achieve it.
