The Surprise: A Movie About Depression And Love

Manila, Philippines -- Have you ever dreamed of being a millionaire? And if you are a millionaire, your mother and father died, you have all the billions with you and your big house, your 34 cars and a lot of workers, and you are drowning with depression because you thought that no one will be loving you anymore, what will you do? This is the scenario that happened to Jeroen van Koningsbrugge who played an eccentric multimillionaire that signed an agreement to have his life ended due to depression. While selecting his coffin he meets a young woman who has signed up for the same arrangement. Trouble ensues when the couple falls in love and wishes to get out of the contract.

This romance, action and comedy movie will be showing in theaters on May 11, 2016 brought to you by Solar Pictures. Directed by Mike van Diem, The movie "The Surprise" won't be given that title if there are really no surprises at all. There are, of course, two surprises in the story. Falling in love is one of them but the manner of the wealthy suicidal's impending death is another ...he doesn't know when or where or how he will be struck down, only that he will.

The concept sounds remarkably similar to Nik Amir Mustapha's 2013 Malaysian effort Kil, though in this case the core story is credited to single-named author Belcampo. Regardless, the trailer looks like rather a lot of fun, and it is such a good movie to watch out for. If you want to see the trailer, check out this LINK
