Sunsparks Wins Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League - Philippines Season 4

Sunspark has transitioned from last season's dark horse to a full-fledged powerhouse by claiming the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season 4 championship title over ONIC PH, 3-2, in a heated best-of-five grand final.

Thousands of passionate fans flocked to the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on October 5-6, 2019 to witness the culmination of the Philippines’ biggest mobile esports league. Eight teams—Sunsparks, ONIC PH, SGD Omega, Execration, Bren Esports, Geek Fam PH, Ownage, and EVOS Esports PH—fought for the lion’s share of the $54,000 playoffs prize pool, but in the end, the dominant upper bracket run of Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura, Cedrie “Fuzaken” Pasusani, Kiel VJ “KielVJ” Cruzem, Renz Errol “Renzio” Cadua, Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz, and Francisco “Eskii Flexx” Antillon led them to the crown.
GRAND FINALS RESULTS

       Champion: Sunsparks ($25,000)
       2nd Place: ONIC PH ($13,000)
       3rd Place: SGD Omega ($6,000)
       4th Place: Execration ($4,000)
5th-6th Place: Bren Esports and Geek Fam ($2,000 each)
7th-8th Place: EVOS Esports and Ownage ($1,000 each)
Sunsparks was formed from the ashes of MPL-PH Season 3 5th-6th placer, No Limit. Built around child prodigy KielVJ, the squad notoriously known for pulling off upsets against the strongest teams in the league entered the fourth season after acquiring free agent Renzio as well as Fuzaken from Ownage. They spent most of the regular season in the top four of the standings and were the only team to smear ONIC PH's otherwise spotless tournament record. Sunsparks then ultimately ended the six-week tournament phase as the top seed, with their Mage player, Jaypee, bagging the regular season’s most valuable player award.
The fourth game of the finals series will be forever etched in the history of the league as an iconic game: a roller coaster ride of emotions punctuated with an unbelievable come-from-behind victory in favor of Sunsparks thanks to a clutch play from Rafflesia. Sunsparks then completed the reverse sweep in game 5 and hoisted the MPL-PH Season 4 championship trophy.
As a result of their first and second placing in the MPL-PH Season 4, Sunsparks and ONIC PH have also earned the honor to represent the Philippines in the first-ever M1 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship, an international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament that will be participated in by five regions from around the world.

The M1 World Championship will be held at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 15-17, 2019. Check out the official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Facebook page for more information.
