Air Link International Aviation College (ALIAC) partners with Globe for its online learning enabler program

Online learning has become an essential move by schools in the hopes of continuing education in the safety and comfort of the home. In line with this move, Air Link International Aviation College (ALIAC) has partnered with Globe in providing their students and teachers with Internet modems vital for the online teaching and learning process.

Through the partnership, ALIAC not only provided connectivity devices to students and faculty,  but they also supported the monthly prepaid load credits using Globe’s secure Load Up web-based platform. All Home Prepaid WiFi kits include a WiFi modem with a LAN port, free 10GB of data allocation, an additional 1GB daily free data allocation to access educational apps, which will be useful in the ALIAC online learning platform.

“The ALIAC Enabler Program enumerates various support mechanisms to enable and empower the community to continue with quality education through the Pro-Active Learning Modality. This includes the provision of Internet connectivity to our students and faculty through Globe myBusiness,” shares Lariza Amurao, Vice President for Finance and Administration of ALIAC

Through the Enabler Program, ALIAC faculty and staff were provided financial assistance to acquire or upgrade their e-teaching and work-from-home devices, such as laptops and tablets. The program was the initiative of VP Amurao to enable its faculty, students, and staff during this pandemic.

ALIAC has put in place its “capacity building measures” and “enablers” (i.e. Educational care packages; subsidies and rebates; Globe WiFi kits and laptop; additional manpower for Information Technology administration and support). As explained by its Chairman and CEO, Attorney Gomeriano V. Amurao, ALIAC has rolled out various training programs in support of distance education modalities. Given the school’s level of preparedness, Atty. Amurao added that he feels strongly that the school is ready for the better normal just as its academic partners are ready to proceed.

“The better normal compels everyone to create and recreate teaching-and-learning processes within a flexible learning ecology. With the help of Globe, the ALIAC community fully embraces and easily navigates the better normal with robust learning and remote working. At this point, it’s all systems go for ALIAC. As usual, the ALIAC community is cleared for takeoff for the new academic year! COVID did not STOP us. It enabled us,” stresses Atty. Amurao.

ALIAC is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines as one of the top higher education institutions (HEI) in aviation in the country. The school has played a major role in keeping the Philippine aviation industry at its highest for nearly 40 years by consistently producing highly qualified and proficient aviation professionals.
