Schneider Electric Achieves Strong Start to 2025 in Sustainability Goals

Rueil-Malmaison, France – Schneider Electric, a global leader in digital energy management and automation, has reported a strong performance in the first quarter of 2025 through its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program, achieving a score of 7.95 out of 10, inching closer to its end-of-year goal of 8.80.

The company, recently honored by Corporate Knights as the world’s most sustainable corporation, continues to build momentum in its sustainability journey. This follows an impressive 2024 SSI score of 7.55, which exceeded its target of 7.40. Schneider’s sustainability performance is evaluated quarterly based on 11 global ESG commitments, forming the core of the SSI framework.

SSI tracks progress from a 2020 baseline and uses a 10-point scoring system. The scoring is calculated across key performance indicators and verified through external audits, reinforcing the company’s commitment to transparency and accountability. In 2024, the SSI’s eighth indicator received "reasonable" external assurance, highlighting the reliability of Schneider’s ESG data.

Chief Sustainability Officer Chris Leong emphasized the company’s mission to transform ambition into action. “With the support of our ecosystem, our people, and all our Impact Makers, we will succeed in 2025,” she stated.

One of Schneider’s most notable Q1 achievements was helping customers save or avoid nearly 700 million tonnes of CO₂, adding to the 679 million tonnes avoided since 2018. Through the Zero Carbon Project, Schneider also helped reduce emissions by 42% from its top 1,000 suppliers.

On the social front, the company has made remarkable progress. Supplier compliance with decent work standards jumped from 21% in 2023 to 63% in 2024. Schneider also provided clean electricity to 53.4 million people and trained over 824,000 individuals in energy management, moving closer to its target of one million trainees by 2025.

The company’s consistent performance has earned it multiple honors: inclusion in the Dow Jones World Index for the 14th consecutive year, a CDP A list spot, a AAA rating from MSCI ESG, and a Platinum rating from EcoVadis.

Schneider Electric’s drive to integrate sustainability with innovation and social impact remains a blueprint for businesses worldwide. As 2025 unfolds, the company is well on track to achieve its ambitious sustainability goals while inspiring a global movement for change.
