Sony Philippines joins WPPP Photo & Video Congress, elevates the standards of photography & videography industry in the Philippines

Sony Philippines, in partnership with Wedding & Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP), capped off the three-day Photo and Video congress 2018 held in Trinoma Mall. The event attendees were composed of some novice, amateurs, and professional photographers and videographers.

Now on its 13th year, the WPP Photo and Video Congress aim to continuously elevate the industry’s standards of photography and videography; and to further foster and strengthen the camaraderie within this group of enthusiasts and professionals.

Various photography workshops, trade shows, photo exhibitions, and demos were conducted for the participants. The attendees were presented with lectures and tips from the pros that helped them gather new insights when capturing photos and videos. There was also firsthand testing of camera model units specifically designed for this craft. Some of the Sony cameras highlighted were the ILCE-7RM3 (a7Riii) which is best for pre-nuptial shoots for its 42.4-megapixel photo quality and the Eye AF (Auto-Focus) performance, the ILCE-9 (a9) which is designed with 20fps shooting capabilities which may come in handy for shooting key moments on the wedding day itself and the ILCE-7SM2 (a7Sii) which is perfect for shooting wedding videos because of its high ISO sensitivity and video quality.

Sony Philippines was at the forefront of the event, providing the participants with various workshops in wedding product photography, ambient lighting, and wedding portrait photography. Sony brought in its various Sony professionals: Nigel Laxamana who gave a workshop on product photography, alongside Jiggie Alejandrino with ambient lighting, and Pilar Bonin on portrait photography. Participants were also able to touch and try Sony cameras’ mirrorless line as the frontrunner.

Sony Philippines brought Jackner Borja of Mayad studios for the last day highlight, in which he tackled a full-on wedding photography and videography workshopAside from giving useful tips to the attendees, Jackner also imparted a live demonstration of a same day edit video production.

WPPP’s Photo and Video Congress is a platform where hobbyists and professionals can get together and learn through various workshops and demos as a community. This annual event continues to reach more and more photographers, providing them a venue to share, learn, and uphold high standards of wedding photography and videography in the country.
