Globe highlighted these initiatives during the Liveable Cities Lab held at the Asian Institute of Management, where government leaders, local government representatives, businesses, and sustainability advocates gathered to discuss solutions that can help accelerate the transition to cleaner and more sustainable communities.
"By adopting Green Network and AI-driven energy efficiency technologies, Globe is proving that resource efficiency and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. Our commitment to sustainability-related innovations isn't just about upgrading networks; it's about empowering cities and enterprises to build cleaner and more liveable cities," said Raymond Aguilar, Globe Vice President for Risk and Property Management.
A key contributor to these savings was Globe's continued investment in its Green Network program. In 2025 alone, the company deployed 20,800 new energy-efficient technologies across its operations, helping reduce energy consumption throughout its network and facilities.
Artificial Intelligence plays an increasingly important role in these efforts. Globe uses AI to automatically calibrate the energy consumption of cell sites based on network demand, while AI-powered cooling systems help optimize energy use in company buildings.
The company has also deployed storage optimization technologies within its Network Function Virtualization (NFV) environment, enabling unused servers to automatically shut down when not needed. Additional measures include replacing legacy lead-acid batteries with more energy-efficient Lithium-ion and Sodium-Nickel battery technologies, alongside the continued expansion of renewable energy and hybrid electric vehicle initiatives.
Beyond improving its own operations, Globe highlighted how these innovations can support cities and municipalities in advancing sustainability goals while aligning with the objectives of the New Government Procurement Act or Republic Act 12009. The company noted that technologies that improve resource efficiency can help communities pursue their environmental objectives while supporting long-term development goals.
Technology will play an increasingly important role in helping communities balance growth, sustainability, and resource efficiency. Through its Green Network initiatives, AI-driven and IoT solutions, Globe continues to support cleaner, more intelligent, and more liveable cities.
