PLDT Powers PPCRV-AMA Command Center for Historic BARMM Parliamentary Elections

PLDT Inc. (PLDT) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting transparent, credible, and technology-enabled elections as it joined the launch of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV)-AMA Command Center for the unofficial parallel count of the first regular Parliamentary Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

The event, held at the PPCRV-AMA Command Center located at AMA School of Medicine Annex in Makati City, brought together key leaders and partners in the electoral process, including PPCRV Chair Emeritus and Co-Founder Henrietta de Villa, PPCRV National Chairperson Evelyn Singson, Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia, AMA Group of Companies Chairman Amb. Amable R. Aguiluz V, and PLDT representatives led by PLDT Chief Operating Officer Menardo G. Jimenez Jr.

"Elections are more transparent when connectivity is secure and reliable. Our part in this partnership with PPCRV is to make sure their connectivity is robust, resilient, reliable, and responsive. This helps volunteers and election stakeholders carry out their work with confidence. We are privileged and honored to continue being part of this initiative that safeguards and strengthens public trust," said Jimenez, adding that PLDT will also help boost initiatives that promote informed civic participation, highlighting opportunities for future collaboration on voter education programs aimed at helping Filipinos, particularly the youth, become more engaged in the electoral process.

PLDT’s support for the PPCRV-AMA Command Center is part of the Group’s broader support for the historic BARMM Parliamentary Elections. Earlier, PLDT announced that its VITRO data centers will be housing critical servers that will receive data directly transmitted by automated counting machines for the BARMM elections.

PLDT’s wireless arm, Smart Communications Inc (Smart), is also providing prepaid SIMs with load to support election coordination and monitoring activities.

These initiatives form part of PLDT’s longstanding support for election modernization efforts. Through its extensive network infrastructure, connectivity solutions, and data center capabilities, the Group continues to help empower institutions with the digital tools needed to carry out critical public functions, advancing the country’s digital transformation agenda.
