“The free materials from the British Council provided me the familiarisation to navigate the test, and gave me the confidence to get the band score I needed to study abroad," shares Casey Cruz, 2nd Prize Winner of IELTS Prize 2023 Philippines and now pursuing a Master of Arts in Human Rights at Mahidol University, Thailand.

IELTS Test Tip #2:
Practice with timed mock tests.

The pressure of time can trip up even the most prepared students. Timed mock exams from IELTS Ready Premium simulate the actual test environment, allowing students to practise under pressure, and build familiarity with pacing and timing across sections.

“Taking the practice tests will take away your anxiety and worry because you will get a feel of the flow and the timing of the exam, allowing you to manage your time and plan how you can answer with the time constraint,” advises Rafi Sartin, 3rd Place Winner of the IELTS Prize 2023 Philippines, and currently completing her master's degree in Marketing at Western Sydney University, Australia.

IELTS Test Tip #3:
Follow a personalized study plan.

Every student learns differently, and a customized study plan makes all the difference. With its adaptive learning features, IELTS Ready Premium helps students study at their own pace, and focus on areas that need improvement based on individual learning styles and needs.

“The tailored study plan helped me concentrate on improving specific skills, especially with the personalized videos and targeted exercises,” shares Dorothy Pugoy, now a c

IELTS Test Tip #4:
Focus on strengths, and improve weaknesses.

Knowing what works and what doesn’t is key to effective exam preparation. The IELTS Ready Premium includes practice tests for listening, reading, writing, and speaking, which provides possible band scores for each section, helping students pinpoint their strengths and areas for improvement.

“Writing and reading have always been my forte but it turns out that it is the field that I needed help the most. After spending hours reading handouts during my breaks, I worked on those weak spots, while strengthening the areas I had already mastered,” recalls Tracy Salazar, who reached her target band score to study abroad for a post-baccalaureate degree.

IELTS Test Tip #5:
Learn from mistakes.

Mistakes are a natural part of learning. With model answers from test takers at various band levels and detailed feedback explaining what is right or wrong, IELTS Ready Premium helps students identify and correct errors to refine their answers.

“The practice tests gave me an idea of how I was doing so far in reaching my target score to work or study abroad. I appreciate having model answers in the subtests based on the band scores available since it gave me more ideas on composing and improving my answers,” shares Julienne Roman,
who scored above her desired band level for future plans to work in the US healthcare industry.

Bad Connection? You May Just Need to Reset Your Modem

Resetting your modem can be a simple yet effective way to solve many common internet issues. Whether you’re experiencing slow speeds, or intermittent connections, or your WiFi just isn’t working as it should, a quick reset can often do the trick.

To see if your modem needs a reset, check its lights. If the LOS or third light from the left is red, that means there’s no connection. If the PON or second light from the left is not on or is blinking, you may have connection issues. In both cases, a reset may do the trick to bring your modem back to life.

Globe At Home shows you five easy steps to get your modem back in action:

Step 1: Turn off and unplug your modem

Start by turning off your modem. Most modems have a power button located on the back or side of the device. Press this button to turn off the device, then unplug the power adapter from the modem.

Step 2: Wait for 30 seconds

Wait for 30 seconds to give your modem time to fully power down and clear any temporary issues that may have been causing connectivity problems.

Step 3: Check your cables

Take a moment to check if all the cables connected to your modem are secure. This includes the power cable, fiber patch cord, Ethernet cables, and any other connections your modem might have. Loose or improperly connected cables could be a source of connectivity issues. Double-check them to save you from future headaches.

Step 4: Plug back in and power on

After your 30-second wait, it’s time to bring your modem back to life. Plug the power adapter back into the modem. Once connected, press the power button to turn the modem on.

Step 5: Wait for the lights and reconnect to WiFi

Your modem will go through a series of checks as it powers up. You’ll see the lights blinking and flashing in various patterns. Wait for these lights to stabilize. Once stable, it’s time to reconnect your devices to the WiFi.

"Staying connected is crucial in today’s digital age. Simply resetting your modem can save time and reduce frustration. Consider resetting your modem every few months or whenever you experience connectivity problems," said Abigail Cardino, VP and Head of Brand Management for Globe’s Broadband Business.

Technology isn’t always perfect, but a little know-how can go a long way in keeping your online experience smooth and enjoyable. Remember to take care of your modem to avoid additional charges in case the device is damaged and should be replaced.

Empower Your Home: Master basic WiFi troubleshooting with Globe AT HOME

Do you experience sluggish internet speeds or connection issues at home? Don't fret! GLOBE AT HOME is here to empower you with basic WiFi troubleshooting techniques that can enhance your online experience.

Remember, you have control over your WiFi. And you can remedy various disruptors that affect your home connection.

By following these easy steps, you can resolve common internet problems and enjoy seamless connectivity.

Check your modem lights

You may not readily notice, but your modem lights can tell you a lot about your modem’s health. If your modem’s LOS (third light indicator) is red, that means there’s no connection. And if your PON is green but blinking, this means there is no connection. This is your first step in determining whether the device is encountering problems.

Restart your modem

First things first: try the classic "turn it off and on again" approach. Restarting your modem can work wonders in refreshing your connection and fixing many minor issues. Wait for 30 seconds to allow your device to fully shut off before powering it up again.

Inspect your wires and cables

Loose or damaged cables can disrupt your internet connection. Ensure all wires are securely plugged in and have no visible damage. A quick inspection might save you a lot of headaches.

Check your connection: 2.4GHz vs. 5GHz

Your modem provides two types of WiFi connections: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Knowing which one to use can make a significant difference in your internet quality. If you’re close to the modem, opt for the 5GHz band. If you’re farther away, the 2.4GHz band provides a more stable connection.

Watch out for outages

Sometimes, the situation is beyond your control. Watch out for red lights on your modem, which indicate connection problems. Stay informed about any reported outages in your area. Connectivity may be disrupted by fiber cuts, caused by theft or unintentional cuts during road work, or or the illegal use of signal repeaters.

To conveniently find out connectivity problems, you may check your GlobeOne app for advisories. You may also report connection issues via the HELP section on the app.

Device management

Take a moment to consider the number of devices connected to your WiFi and the speed of your current plan. If you have multiple family members streaming, gaming, and working simultaneously, you might need to upgrade your plan to accommodate the increased demand.

To optimize your connection, try reducing the number of connected devices when possible. Also, there may be browser plug-ins slowing down your browsing experience. Additionally, selecting a plan that aligns with your family's needs is essential for smooth internet usage.

WiFi placement matters

The placement of your modem plays a significant role in signal strength. For best results, position it in a central location within your home away from thick concrete walls that can weaken the signal. Be mindful of potential interference from appliances operating on the 2.4GHz frequency, such as microwaves or cordless phones.

Unauthorized Devices

Security is paramount when it comes to your home network. Regularly check for unauthorized devices connected to your WiFi to ensure your bandwidth isn't being shared without your knowledge.

Don't forget to give your WiFi devices some tender loving care. Regular maintenance can help prevent potential connectivity issues and avoid replacement charges. Take proactive measures to ensure a reliable and enjoyable internet experience for you and your family.

"Your home internet is the heartbeat of your digital life. It is essential to learn simple troubleshooting to unlock the full potential of your connected home. A little know-how goes a long way in creating a seamless online experience for you and your loved ones,” said Abigail Cardino, VP Globe Broadband Business.

Keep Your Modem Cool and Safe, Enjoy Undisrupted Connectivity

In today's digital age, your modem is the unsung hero of your home. It powers your internet, enabling everything from streaming movies to remote working. But like any hardworking device, your modem needs some tender loving care to keep it running smoothly, especially when it comes to avoiding overheating.

Overheating is your modem’s biggest enemy. It can lead to connectivity issues, performance degradation, and even hardware failure. Globe At Home shares five ways to keep your modem cool and efficient:

Place Your Modem in Open Areas

Ventilation is key: Ensure your modem is placed in a well-ventilated spot. Avoid confined spaces such as cabinets or drawers where airflow is restricted.

Keep it uncovered: Do not place items on top of or around your modem. Covering it with books, sheets of paper, or decorative items can block airflow and trap heat.

Keep It Away from Heat Sources

Distance from hot appliances: Position your modem away from heat-generating devices such as refrigerators and ovens. These appliances may raise the ambient temperature and affect your modem.

Avoid direct sunlight: Sunlight may significantly increase the temperature of your modem. Place it in a shaded area away from windows to prevent overheating.

Minimize Electrical Interference

Avoid other electronic devices: Keep your modem away from running electric appliances such as TVs, cordless phones, and personal computers. These devices can emit electromagnetic interference, which not only affects performance but can also contribute to heat buildup.

Stability and Placement

Use a stable, flat surface: Ensure your modem is on a solid, level surface. Avoid soft or uneven surfaces that may block vents or cause the modem to tip over.

Use the Original Adapter

Power matters: Always use the original power adapter with your modem. It’s designed to deliver the correct voltage and current. Using a different adapter may lead to power fluctuations, increasing the risk of overheating.

By following these tips, you can protect your modem from overheating, ensuring that it operates efficiently and maintains a stable internet connection. Take good care of your modem to avoid charges for device replacement in case of damage.

"The modem is the gateway to WiFi connection. We encourage our customers to take care of it just as they look after their mobile phones and other devices that keep them connected. Being mindful of the modem's location is key in preventing unexpected disruptions,” said Abigail Cardino, VP for Broadband Business at Globe.

Remember, a properly placed modem is a safe modem. Check out this video for more tips on optimizing your internet setup and fixing connection issues. For more information about Globe, visit https://www.globe.com.ph/.

How to Choose the Best Bluetooth Speakers: Factors to Consider

Bluetooth speakers have become an essential part of our lives. They are portable, convenient, and easy to use, making them perfect for listening to music and podcasts on the go. With so many options available, choosing the right one can be a daunting task. Here are some factors to consider when buying Bluetooth speakers.

Sound Quality:
Sound quality is the most important factor to consider when choosing Bluetooth speakers. Look for speakers that offer a balanced sound with clear highs, mids, and lows. Also, consider the bass output of the speakers. If you are a bass lover, choose speakers with a dedicated subwoofer.

Size: Bluetooth speakers come in different sizes, ranging from small and portable to large and heavy. If you plan to use the speaker on the go, look for a compact and lightweight speaker that can fit in your backpack or purse. However, if you plan to use the speaker at home or for outdoor parties, a larger and heavier speaker may be a better option.

Battery Life: The battery life of the Bluetooth speaker is also an important consideration. Look for speakers that offer long battery life so that you can listen to music for several hours without needing to charge the speaker. Some Bluetooth speakers come with a built-in rechargeable battery, while others use replaceable batteries.

Water Resistance: If you plan to use the Bluetooth speaker outdoors or near water, consider a speaker that is water-resistant or waterproof. Water-resistant speakers can withstand splashes of water, while waterproof speakers can be submerged in water without getting damaged.

Connectivity: Check if the speaker is compatible with your device. Most Bluetooth speakers are compatible with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. However, some speakers may have limited compatibility with certain devices. Also, look for speakers that offer multiple connectivity options, such as Bluetooth, AUX, and USB.

Brand and Price: The brand and price of the Bluetooth speaker are also important factors to consider. Choose a reputable brand that offers quality products and excellent customer service. However, keep in mind that higher-priced speakers do not always guarantee better sound quality. Look for a speaker that offers a good balance between quality and price.

Conclusion:

Choosing the right Bluetooth speaker can enhance your listening experience and make your life more enjoyable. Consider the factors mentioned above before making a purchase. Keep in mind that the best speaker for you will depend on your personal preferences, needs, and budget.

5 simple eco-friendly tips for your workspaces at home

PHILIPPINES, March 2021 - When it comes to optimizing space for productivity at the comfort of your home—whether for work, school, or for personal projects—it’s essential to consider organizing and designing beyond functionality. Approaching this from a holistic perspective means being aware of the environmental impact you create and making eco-conscious choices for your home setup.

There are a lot of advantages to being more mindful with your workspace. Aside from an organized space allowing you to think more clearly and work more productively, you can also push for energy-efficiency, which translates to less power consumption and practical financial savings in the long run.

Here are 5 simple tips on how you can ramp up your workspace to be more sustainable:

  1. Focus on lighting. Reconfiguring your space to make sure it is near a well-lit area can give your workspace an instant uplift, while also allowing you to cut down on power usage by doing away with lamps during the day. Making the most out of natural light also helps alleviate eye strain especially when working for long hours. Keep your windows clean and find the right blinds that would keep just enough sunlight in, depending on your needs. During times you would be needing artificial light, consider opting for more environmentally friendly bulbs with LED lights that can significantly reduce power consumption and electricity costs.

  2. Check ventilation. Having proper ventilation is important to keep your work and office space comfortable. Take in the fresh air that can be great for your mental health and help ensure that your laptop functions optimally without the threat of overheating. If possible, go for air conditioning units that are the right size for your needs and are equipped with programmable thermostats and two-stage compressors that are designed to automatically compress more heat on hot days and less on cool days, saving you energy.
  1. Reuse, reduce, recycle. Before you buy anything for your workspace, check if you have an existing item that can be reused or repurposed. For instance, old envelopes, folders, and clips may be reused repeatedly for file management. Instead of buying new items, get an old decorative item or pick a house plant that you already have to spruce up your workspace.

  2. Go digital. Shift more of your notetaking to digital platforms. Instead of littering your space with post-it notes, go for digital sticky notes instead. Aside from freeing your space of clutter, digital notes are saved online, making them easy to find for future use. This offers greater convenience versus aimlessly sifting through notebooks or piles of paper on your table and inside drawers.

  3. Use the right printing equipment. For your printing needs, find a reliable inkjet printer that combines performance and energy efficiency. Contrary to popular misconception, inkjet printers can deliver similar results as laser printers while minimizing cost and power consumption. Epson has an outstanding line of energy-efficient home inkjet printers that will meet your printing needs while helping you save time and costs. Epson’s EcoTank range combines connectivity, functionality, and low total cost of ownership without sacrificing print quality.

Unlike thermal inkjets and laser printers, the EcoTank range utilizes Epson’s revolutionary Heat-Free Technology, which eliminates the need for heat in the ink ejection process, resulting in significantly less energy consumption and wastage from parts replacement, since there is no accumulated heat in the printhead.

Try out some of these practical tips for a more holistic and eco-friendly work environment and visit https://www.epson.com.ph/ecotank to discover more heat-free printing solutions ideal for your space.

Here’s how we can create an HIV-free world in the next normal

Inevitably, there are numerous issues of importance that have taken a backseat because of the ongoing pandemic. One of them is HIV, which has not only been a cause for concern for those in the LGBTQIA+ community but the entire human race as well. And while the DOH recently announced that HIV cases have gone down by an astounding 68% in the 2nd quarter of 2020, they also note that it is no cause for celebration.

Whether the number of cases has truly gone down or is simply unreported due to lockdowns across the country, the fact remains that there are still new cases daily. In fact, before the pandemic, DOH statistics revealed that the country averaged 35 cases on a daily basis.

While we have movements and events like Pride Month that promote HIV-awareness alongside gender equality, bringing awareness to this cause, even while on lockdown, should not stop. There are actually some ways to raise the alarm and bring the issue of HIV to the fore. Here are a few:

Accept

A good first step—especially for those who are still on the fence and have reservations on the matter—would be to acknowledge and accept that people are free to identify themselves as they wish and that there is no one way to express one’s self and one’s love—not to mention that HIV exists. With this first step, individuals will have a much easier time trying to understand and empathize with each other and possibly help each other overcome challenges such as HIV, gender inequality, and other similar issues.

Educate

One of the many benefits of this fast-paced, digital world we live in today is that seemingly-unlimited information is readily available within our fingertips. This is key because part of creating an HIV-free world also entails learning more about it, the groups of people who usually contract it, and ways in which the virus can be eradicated.

Advocate

With a clear understanding of HIV, creating a world without it would mean spreading the word, engaging in discourse, and spreading your knowledge to uninformed people. In advocating, one can also learn more through likeminded people looking to express themselves as well.

Heed

Lastly, in order to disseminate information and knowledge further while building a sense of community, it would be good to take action and support calls and campaigns such as Durex’s “No One Way Love All Ways” Campaign that supports and promotes all ways of living and expressing.

“A big challenge in the fight against HIV has always been the lack of acknowledgment and proper education on the matter.” Said Dr. Rica Cruz, Licensed Psychologist, Sex Therapist, and Educator. “While our current situation presents difficulties as physical events cannot be staged, the opportunity to use available technologies such as social media and online webinars can also be utilized to our advantage. These are excellent tools for spreading the word to a wider audience from the comforts of our home while still being safe in more ways than one.”

Globe urges customers to use reporting tool for spam/scam cases

As cases of mobile fraud and spamming continue to escalate during the pandemic, Globe Telecom is encouraging its customers to use the company’s reporting tool to stop unscrupulous people from taking advantage or deceiving the general public through calls and text messages.

By visiting https://www.globe.com.ph/stop-spam.html and filling out the online form, Globe customers can easily help put a stop to these illegal practices.  Once a report is received, Globe will promptly respond by deactivating numbers proven to be repetitive sources of such dubious messages.

“We are concerned about the problems that could arise from these calls and text scams. This is why we continuously work to combat this malicious behavior to provide a spam-free experience for all our customers. While we constantly upgrade and improve our blocking and filtering mechanism to keep unwanted messages from entering our network, we also need the cooperation of our customers to make this effort fully effective,” said Anton Bonifacio, Globe Chief Information Security Officer.

Globe reminds its customers that official Globe advisories come only from a 4-digit or alphanumeric sender code, thus, they should not entertain any message from 11-digit numbers pretending to be from Globe no matter how legitimate they seem to be.  Other warning signs of scams and spams are the presence of letters that are deliberately capitalized as well as grammatical and spelling errors.

Most recently, there are complaints about alleged Globe representatives offering a SIM upgrade and asking for a one-time PIN.  Globe, however, will never ask for personal information or ask anyone to surrender their SIM since this may lead to unauthorized access to services such as verification or security protocols for bank accounts, money transfers, and other related transactions that are linked to the customer’s mobile number.

The same holds true for other text messages from third parties that request for personal information such as name, age, and address, in exchange for raffle prizes, pre-approved loans, and other similar offers.  These scammers often entice their victims to send money in exchange for their prize.

Globe also warned against text messages that require the recipient to send a certain amount to 2 + (10-digit mobile number) for either a "discount," "refund," and other fraudulent claims. This is a Share-a-Load process that will transfer Prepaid load to the scammer.

Another similar scam involves a request for the recipient to dial *100*1* (10-digit mobile number) and so on. This is an AutoloadMAX retailer process that will transfer load credits to the scammer.

Thus, Globe also reminds its customers to always transact with Globe official channels and accounts - https://glbe.co/official-accounts.

Top 5 Money Making Tips To Help You Earn From Your Blog Today

An Introduction to Blog Monetization

As a new blogger, you may be eager to jump headfirst into monetization. While that’s certainly a commendable goal, getting started can be overwhelming for even the most seasoned of bloggers. From choosing the correct blog monetization methods to setting the process in motion, you may find yourself unsure of how to begin.
However, whether you’re looking to monetize right away or wait until you’ve gained a following, there are a number of options offering excellent earning potential. Utilizing one or more monetization methods may even enable you to leave behind your nine-to-five in the long run.
In this post, we’ll discuss what it means to monetize your blog, as well as whether you should start the process right away. We’ll then reveal five popular blog monetization methods and how to incorporate them into your blog. Let’s get cracking!

What is Blog Monetization?

You may have seen bloggers around the web make mention of blog monetization methods. There’s a lot that the process entails, but the basics remain the same no matter which method is used. To begin, let’s define the process and why bloggers should consider it.
In the simplest terms, blog monetization is the process of generating revenue through your blog. There are a number of methods available to most bloggers, and various ways to get started. Of course, before beginning any business endeavor, it’s good to understand the pros and cons.
The largest benefit offered by blog monetization is the ability to turn your hobby into a job. While not everyone will make enough to quit their job, monetization can be a great way to supplement your income while doing what you love.
There are some cons to consider as well. One is that monetization can make some site visitors wary. Not everyone will appreciate the incorporation of ads or other money-making methods into your blog. Additionally, if they’re not used correctly, the methods you use can impact content value. This can ultimately lower your readership which, in turn, would make monetization a futile effort.
Having said that, there are ways you can go about minimizing the cons mentioned above. These include making high-quality content a priority and only utilizing monetization methods that can also benefit your readers.

When and How You Should Introduce Monetization Methods

It’s certainly possible to monetize your blog before you’ve even hit Publish on your first post. Whether this is a good idea, however, will depend on a few things.
To determine the best time for you to monetize your blog, there are a few questions you’ll want to ask yourself:
  • Do I have the time to invest? Depending on the methods you use, it can take quite a bit of time to start earning. This is especially true for those who are just getting started.
  • Will my site’s quality suffer? Prior to beginning the process, you may want to consider the level of quality you hope to offer, and be sure that you’ll be able to meet those standards while monetizing your site.
  • How much am I realistically hoping to make? If you’d be disappointed earning less than a certain income per month, you may want to hold off on your revenue-earning efforts. Instead, focus producing quality content and building a following.
If, after answering the above questions, you’ve decided to wait, here’s a couple of tips for adding monetization methods later on without shocking site regulars.
  1. Start slowly. You don’t want to take the focus away from your site’s content, so only incorporate ads that are relevant to your niche and target audience.
  2. Involve your readers in the process. You want your monetization efforts to benefit site visitors, so give them a say.
The rest of the ‘how’ will depend on which monetization technique you choose. So without further ado, let’s get started!

5 Blog Monetization Methods to Help You Earn Money Today

While monetizing your blog may seem like a big step, by using one (or a combination) of the blog monetization methods below, it can be fairly simple to get started.

1. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising

If you’re looking for a low-effort way to monetize your blog, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is a good option to explore. This, in a nutshell, involves the direction of traffic from one website to another. PPC ads are commonly seen on Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) and social media sites, but any website can display them.
One of the best things about PPC ads is that setting them up on your site requires very little effort. There are also other benefits to this monetization method, including the ability to tailor the ads to suit your blog’s audience and earn money passively.
If you’d like to explore PPC advertising, an ad network – which can connect you (the publisher) directly with advertisers – is the easiest place to begin. Two popular ad networks include Google AdSense and Infolinks, but there are plenty of others to choose from.
Keep in mind that you will have to apply to be approved by the ad network you choose. Additionally, such networks require that you follow a set of guidelines. These typically cover various website elements including traffic sources, content quality, and website history.
As long as you use common sense when building your website and you only utilize ethical internet practices, getting ad network approval shouldn’t be too difficult.

2. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular monetization methods to make its way through the blogosphere. It offers a unique opportunity to make money while providing your readers with value.
In simplest terms, affiliate marketing is a method where the marketer (you) promotes products for the merchant. When a product is purchased, you earn a small cut, known as a commission.
There are a number of benefits of adding affiliate marketing to your list of revenue-earning ideas. These include:
  • No involvement in the sales or support process.
  • The ability to offer tangible value to your readers.
  • The chance to promote products you love.
Similar to PPC advertising, there are networks that are affiliate-focused. These include Amazon AssociatesClickBank, and ShareaSale.
However, it’s not enough just to add affiliate links to your site. If you want to be a successful marketer, there are a few steps you should take as you set up your marketing plan:
  1. Identify readers’ goals and problems. Listen to your audience, ask questions, and just be aware of common niche pain points.
  2. Find the products or services your readers need. These can be physical or digital, or non-material resources such as workshop or professional consultations. You can even ask your readers if there are specific products they’d like you to try out and review.
  3. Choose products you trust. To come across as knowledgeable and truthful, only promote products you’ve tested and are happy with.
  4. Make use of various promotion methods. Incorporate affiliate links in a variety of ways, such as creating custom content (including reviews and guest posts) and using email marketing.
With the steps outlined above, creating a successful affiliate marketing business through your blog is definitely possible.

3. Product Sales

As a blogger, you’re already a creator of great content. Why not extend that content to include products, such as e-books, guides, e-courses, and more?
When you sell products, you’re in total control of the process. This is great for those who want to be more involved in their monetization efforts and create a standalone source of recurring income.
How you begin the process of product creation will depend on your overall goals, as well as what you’d like to create. However, you can use these three key steps to get started:
  1. Collect intelligence. Whether you’d like to write an e-book, build an e-course, or create a guide, you need to start with research. Create surveys, browse niche forums, and even perform in-depth interviews. Don’t be afraid to be explicit and simply ask readers what they would like to see you offer.
  2. Analyze the data. It’s not enough to collect data; you also have to use it to inform your decisions. The easiest method of analysis is to search for patterns. When perusing the data, look for common topics and shared problems. The more mentions that a topic has, the more likely there is to be a market for a product focused on that topic.
  3. Create a pilot. Before investing too much time, create a small-scale version of your product. You can offer this at a low price (or for free) to regular blog readers and obtain useful feedback.
Creating a product to sell is much more involved than some of the other monetization options in this list. It will involve a lot of time, extensive research, and, most importantly, persistence. However, the benefits can far outweigh the negatives if it’s done right.

4. Service Offerings

Similar to products, service offerings enable you to take control of your money-making efforts. They’re also a way for you to set yourself apart from your competitors, and offer value to your blog’s followers.
Just as with product sales, service offerings enable you to stay in control of the process. Additionally, your services can be a source of recurring income, and can help to establish you as an authority in your niche.
Getting started offering services isn’t difficult. For most, the hard part is actually coming up with ideas. To give you an idea of what kinds of services you can offer, ask yourself these three questions:
  1. What are you good at? This will have the most influence on your choice of service offering. When thinking of an answer, consider what you do for work and how you spend your spare time. Think about how you can leverage your unique knowledge and experiences to help others.
  2. What’s your blog niche? The more related your service offering is to your niche, the better. With your answer from step one, consider how you can apply your knowledge in a niche-specific manner.
  3. What service offerings are lacking in your industry? If you want to stand out in your industry try creating a service that isn’t currently being offered. As an added bonus, this will give you a boost as a niche authority.
The answers to the these three questions, when combined, will enable you to create a unique and valuable service to readers. Of course, you can also ask your blog’s visitors directly what kinds of offerings they would appreciate. This will provide you with ideas that you know niche readers are interested in.

5. Private Ad Space Sales

As you begin to gain a sizable following, you may have businesses approach you to buy ad space on your blog. This is known as private ad space sales, and it can be an easy way to monetize.
How much you earn will ultimately be decided between yourself and the business whose ads you’re publishing, but a common method for calculating payment uses Cost Per Impressio (CPI). Typically, you earn a set amount for each 1,000 ad impressions.
There are a number of reasons this method of monetization is a good one to consider. For example:
  • It requires very little effort. After dealing with the business side of things, you simply set the ad to appear on your blog. Ad spaces typically sell for two to four weeks, and very little maintenance is required.
  • It offers great earning potential. You can set your own price, which means your earning potential is practically limitless.
  • It gives you maximum control over ads. As a private transaction, you can choose which businesses you’d like to work with. This means you can choose to only incorporate ads that will benefit your readers, or those that will earn you the most revenue.
Above, we mentioned that businesses may approach you directly. However, you can also make direct contact yourself, or use ad space marketplaces, like AdClerks.
Also, keep in mind that it’s difficult for blogs with low traffic volumes to earn revenue through this method. However, you can utilize the private ad space yourself while you work on increasing traffic. Promote your business’ offerings by creating ads and displaying them in a noticeable but nonintrusive place.

Conclusion

Whether you’ve been blogging for a while or you’re just getting started, monetization is something that all bloggers should at least consider. After all, the process doesn’t have to be difficult and, with the right techniques, the benefits can far outweigh the negatives.
